- With suspected deep venous thrombosis in vena poplitea and vena femoralisNB: The deep veins of the lower leg are not suitable for ultrasound examination.

CT (angiography)
- With suspected pelvic venous thrombosisChronic pulmonary embolismNB: If there is a strong suspicion of acute pulmonary embolism, the patient should be referred to hospital.

MRI (angiography)
- Suspected venous sinus thrombosis
