Wrists/hands

For pathology in the skeleton in general, see extra-articular skeleton.

X-ray
- Trauma
- Radius fractures
- Scaphoideum fractures. With negative X-ray and strong clinical suspicion of fracture consider MRI.
- Metacarpal fractures
- Finger fractures

- Arthrosis
- Arthritis
- Excluding bone tumour, enchondromas
- Determining skeletal age

CT
- Assess healing of fracture, especially scaphoideum
- Complementary to X-ray and MRI for certain problems
- Check-up of arthrodesis

MRI
- Trauma with normal X-ray and high clinical suspicion of fracture
- Unclear pain condition/reduced function
- Triangular fibrocartilage complex (TFCC)
- Lesion of SL ligament
- Tenosynovitis, (de Quarvain's)
- Carpal tunnel syndrome
- Ruptured/damaged tendon
